Detailed description of Golf Resort At Indian Wells, Players Course
Golf Resort At Indian Wells, Players Course (formerly known as The East Course before it's re-design and re-opening), is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Indian Wells, California.
The newly re-designed course re-opened for play in November 2007. The course was designed by John Fought. The course is of the classic American golf courses design style.
The Players Course features wide playing corridors, traditional rectangular tee boxes and sculpted bunkers. Most of the holes are oriented to take full advantage of views of the surrounding mountain ranges and majestic Eisenhower Mountain to the south. As a "core golf" layout, no roads or homes intrude into the golf courses, and each hole is designed to be somewhat sheltered from the others. Fought retained many of the mature trees found on the original East Course property to impart the feel of an established course while at the same time delivering a modern approach to golf course design.
The mature tree cover and geographical location are about the only two things that the original East Course (opened in 1986) and the new Players Course have in common. By design, the Players Course is completely different than the original golf course.
The Players Course plays to a Par-72. There are 5 tee boxes, Cabernet Tees: 7,376 yards, Blue Tees 6,913 yards, White Tees 6,316 yards, Platinum Tees 5,636 yards, and Red Tees set at 5,108 yards.

The greens were a little slow because they had just over seeded. That's the only negative thing I could possibly say. I loved it!

Played here with my Golf Group 12 of us. Excellent course good condition except greens were a punched several weeks earlier and just needed another week or so. excellent value considering that we played an extra 9 holes.

Would like to have seen yardage markers on sprinkler heads. Had to use the GPS on the cart to determine yardage, which was difficult when cart was on the path as required in some locations. Nicest sand in traps that I have experienced in a long time.Very fine and fluffy. The course was in great shape.

The only real con is the greens staff mowing and weed whacking during play.

Ranking should be must higher...very poor ranking. Excellent course and real and fair challenge from back tees for low handicaper.

This is a great layout and with the sister Course The Celebrity you get 2 great courses. Great condition especially for the summer. Love the fact you can play several different tee boxes and get different experiences. Would recommend to everyone!
